The visit of the head of Thessaloniki -Yanis Butaris - is due to the event of the Sixth nternational Tour Operator Meeting that will be held from 22 to 25th April in Plovdiv. The forum has turned into a tradition in the last three and a half years and is one of the leading events in the branch.

In the three days that the meeting will take b2b meetings will take place as well as a presentation of Plovdiv with its opportunities as a touristic destination. Participants will have the opoortunity to make some new acquintances with primarily European and Bulgarian tour operators.

The deputy mayor of Plovdiv stated that ''We already have an invitation for a visit to Thessaloniki'' and also claimed that the region of Thessaloniki has excessively developed during Butaris'  mandate.

Up to here 110  participants have enrolled into the Meeting - UK, France, Germany, Turkey, Cyprus, Algeria,Serbia,Romania,Georgia have the leading numbers of groups.

''This year will be very dynamic for the touristic branch. We are expecting a huge increase in visitors, in the last two months the figures have doubled and we are happy'', claimed the deputy mayor Stoyanov.
