Plovdiv Municipality, through the Tourism Directorate, is once again among the participants in the international tourism exhibition Holiday & Spa Expo 2025. The format, which unites all sectors of the industry, is being held for the 41st time in the period March 9-11, at Inter Expo Center, in the city of Sofia, with the active support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria.
This year, the forum brings together over 240 exhibitors from different countries and regions: India, China, Tanzania, Algeria, Vietnam, Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Russia, Egypt, Mauritius, Serbia, Greece, France, Spain, Romania, Turkey and Finland. Traditionally, Bulgarian participants are represented by industry organizations, regional and municipal structures, tour operators and travel agencies, transport companies, hotels, IT technologies and software.
The program includes over 40 accompanying events on various themes, which are held on 8 stages. For the first time, a Digital Box zone has been built within the exhibition, offering digital solutions in the field of marketing, branding and advertising in tourism.
The exhibition was opened by the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh and the Manager of Inter Expo Center – Ivaylo Ivanov. The ceremony was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, national and regional tourist boards, industry organizations and officials.
The vision of the Plovdiv Municipality stand is inspired by one of the emblems of the city - the Ancient Theater, and is branded with the familiar composition of the seven arches, representing the city's tourist logo. There, guests can receive information and advertising materials about the city, as well as enjoy dynamic projections of advertising clips presenting the opportunities for cultural and historical, event and wine tourism in the oldest living city in Europe.
Wine tastings of selected varieties of wines from the region were also organized for visitors to the Plovdiv stand.
On the day of the official opening of the forum, the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Archaeology and Tourism Plamen Panov personally welcomed the officials and visitors to the stand and emphasized: "Vacation & Spa Expo is an excellent platform for promoting the rich cultural and historical heritage of Plovdiv and establishing the city as a leading tourist destination with a dynamic event calendar. The city continues to develop successfully in the field of tourism, with a 5% increase in overnight stays in accommodation facilities in 2024 compared to 2023. Participation in established platforms such as Holiday & Spa Expo, WTM London, ITB Berlin contributes to this growth."
The Municipality of Plovdiv continues its consistent policy of establishing the city as a preferred tourist destination for cultural, historical and event tourism.
