Plovdiv has been chosen as the best wine capital in Europe for 2025. This was announced by Mayor of Municipality of Plovdiv Kostadin Dimitrov. The prestigious title is the result of an internal survey by the European Best Destinations organization, in which over 284,000 wine lovers from 82 countries casted their votes. "This recognition comes just after Plovdiv’s official selection to host the UN Tourism Global Wine Tourism Conference, which will further strengthen the city’s leadership in the field of wine tourism," stated Mr. Kostadin Dimitrov.

Like Monaco, Geneva, Marbella, and all previously awarded destinations, Plovdiv can use the official logos and specially designed communication materials of European Best Destinations in all platforms and promotions, reinforcing its place as a leading tourism and cultural destination in Europe.
