The Eastern Sector of the Ancient Stadium of Philippopolis, located under the H&M store on Main Street, opens its doors to visitors on World Tourism Day - September 27

On September 27, 2021, when the World Tourism Day is celebrated, at 11.00 a.m., the newest tourist attraction in Plovdiv will be opened - the archeological finds on the territory of the group cultural monument "Historical Zone Philippopolis-Trimontium-Plovdiv" in the building of Star Gallery Shopping Center (H&M store on Main Street).

Thus, from Monday, the Eastern Sector of the Ancient Stadium of Philippopolis, located in the Shopping Center, is open to Plovdiv residents and guests of the city. With the opening of the site, tourists will have the opportunity to see all the exposed parts of the Roman Stadium - on the Roman Stadium Square, the archeology under "Excelsior" shopping centre and the one under the H&M store.

The opening ceremony will take place outside, next to the entrance of the H&M store, in front of the specially branded window of the newest tourist site.

The site is included in the package for tourist tours offered by the Municipality of Plovdiv, and its management is assigned to Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv".

On the opening day - September 27, the site will operate without paying an entrance ticket throughout the day. From the next day, the visit will be with a ticket for BGN 5.

We remind that at the end of February an agreement was signed between the Municipality of Plovdiv and SS Property Ltd., with which the archeological finds on the territory of the group cultural monument "Historical Zone Philippopolis-Trimontium-Plovdiv" in the building of Star Gallery Shopping Center (H&M store) on the Main Street) are open to Plovdiv residents and guests of the city. In the next few months, the site was refreshed by Municipal Enterprise "Zhilfond", equipment was purchased and a fiscal device was installed for the tickets.
