Concert of the Artio trio as part of the XXV Austrian Music Weeks

As part of the 25th anniversary edition of the Austrian Music Weeks festival, organized by the Austrian Embassy in Sofia and the Vienna Club, a trio of Artio from Austria will give a concert on July 9 at the Dimitar Georgiev Gallery in Plovdiv.

Admission is free, and the start is from 20.00 h.

The program of the concert, which is part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv for 2021, includes "Piano Trio" by Clara Schumann, "Fragments" by Kurt Estermann and "Wem gehört der Mensch ... ?" by Werner Pirchner. The last two works are performed for the first time in Bulgaria.

Kurt Estermann describes his work Fragments as a kaleidoscope of sounds. The sound of the three instruments moves and merges to form a changing soundscape of colors. Like the cells of a kaleidoscope, no instrument stands out as individual. Instead, they combine to form a body of sound that is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Werner Pirchner Piano Trio is dedicated to the theme of the individual's place in society, but this complex theme is expressed with extremely accessible, even popular motifs, with a syncopated jazz rhythm in scherzo passages and jazz-like improvisation.

The Artio Trio was founded in 2017 in Vienna by Austrian violinist Judith Fliedl, German cellist Christine Roider and Austrian pianist Johanna Estermann.

At joint concerts in New York, Berlin and Graz, the three musicians discover what they have in common, apart from the love of chamber music - to have fun together on stage, intense communication with the audience and the desire to have an open relationship, playing together. Thus matured the decision to dedicate themselves to a common creative future with the piano trio. For the short time of their existence, the trio can boast of successes such as the award of the international chamber music competition "Massimiliano Antonelli" and its admission to the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation.

The Artio Trio is included by the Austrian Ministry of European and International Affairs in the New Austrian Sound of Musik (NASOM) program for the promotion of young performers for the period 2020-2022.
