On June 16, 2021 (Wednesday) from 18:00 h. in REM - Plovdiv will be opened the exhibition of the National Polytechnic Museum "Technology at home in the first half of the 20th century", realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition presents various household appliances used in the first half of the last century - the time of the entry of electricity into homes and the idea of ​​functional living in the home. Emphasis is placed on the change that has occurred in everyday life, with the entry of the unknown electrical appliances in the home.

Visitors will be able to get acquainted with a variety of kitchen appliances, devices to maintain a good appearance, as well as with the equipment that was used to organize home parties. They will understand how technology helps to have a good time, how it participates in achieving successful social contacts and in preparing modern entertainment at that time.

Selected authentic advertisements and funny texts from the press of that time are included, which illustrate the change of everyday life in the city.

The team of the National Polytechnic Museum has prepared a special educational program in the form of a booklet, which will delight the first children who visit the exhibition.
