Street Arts Festival 6Fest 2020 - Plovdiv

The 6Fest street festival returns to Plovdiv for the second time after its last year's edition in the Kapana district, which was part of the official program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019. This year the festival is held with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv as part of the Cultural ​​calendar of the city for 2020. The announced date for 6Fest 2020 is July 25. Entry is free. 6Fest calls on all visitors to follow the current anti-epidemic measures and to keep physical distance.
After the circus performances on the "Core" stage in September 2019, this year the street festival will focus on dance and music. A dance and carnival procession awaits us on the main pedestrian street "Knyaz Alexander I", in which 7 local dance groups of different styles will take part. The procession will be led by artists on stilts from the well-known formation "Theater of Fire and Shadows Fireter". Street musicians will play in the Kapana Creative District.
"The year 2020 brought us a test called coronavirus. It has affected many businesses as well as the cultural sector, as all outdoor and indoor cultural events have been suspended. Even major music festivals have postponed their editions for 2021. That is why 6Fest dedicates its fifth edition in support of the artists from Plovdiv. The festival is an invitation to the citizens of Plovdiv and the guests of the city to join the procession to celebrate the happiness of life and our desire to be together again. As in 2019, the street festival 6Fest invites the audience to become part of the festival mood and the procession, making their own carnival costumes or disguise themselves "- said the festival organizer Momchil Tsonev.

DANCE MARKET - 25 July 2020, 19:00 h. (7 pm)

Starting point: Central Square in front of the Central Post Office, 19:00 h.

End point: Jumaya Mosque

Places where the groups will dance:

- Central Square in front of the Central Post Office;
- Fountain in front of the Municipality of Plovdiv (Stefan Stambolov Square) - The buttons;
- The monument to Milo;
- Jumaya Mosque (in front of the Tourist Center).

Dancing groups by locations:

1. Central Square in front of the Central Post Office - Zumba with Pepi, Lindy Hop, Elika, The Center.
2. Fountain in front of the Municipality of Plovdiv (Stefan Stambolov Square) - Lindy Hop, Elika, DS Mariposa, Dance Home, Emotion Dance
3. The stairs at the monument to Milo - Zumba with Pepi, Elika, The Center.
4. Jumaya Mosque - Lindy Hop, Elika, The Center, DS Mariposa, Dance Home, Emotion Dance.

STREET MUSICIANS - July 25, 2020, 20:00 - 22:00 h. (8 -10 pm)

Locations in the "Kapana" district:
- "Core" scene;
- square space behind the Dzhumaya mosque at Zhelezarska Street;
- Zlatarska Street and Hristo Dyukmedjiev Street

Musicians:
- the impro-musical group Creation of Martin Petrushev and Konstantin Kuchev - look for the two musicians in the area of ​​Zlatarska Street and Hristo Dyukmedzhiev Street, they will move along the streets of Kapana to meet different people and to they improvise music based on their ideas.
- 12-year-old Mert Assenov, who plays the electric guitar together with his prolific rock band "The Strangers" and already participates in international festivals - on the stage "The Core";
- the circus-musical formation Combino Project - on the square behind the Dzhumaya mosque at Zhelezarska Street.
