10:00 a.m. - Prayer on the occasion of 116 years since the declaration of the Independence of Bulgaria, organized by the "Petko Karavelov Center" Association

Place: Saint Nedelya Church

10:30 a.m. - Laying of wreaths and flowers in front of the memorial plaque of Alexander Malinov organized by the "Petko Karavelov Center" Association

Place: the square of the same name at the foot of the Old Town (next to the church "St. Nedelya")

11:00 a.m. - Festive event "Open Doors to Music", organized by the Plovdiv Singing Society "Angel Buchorestliev" with conductor Iliyan Tiganev , including:

• Greetings from the mayor of Plovdiv Kostadin Dimitrov
• Concert of Plovdiv Singing Society "Angel Buchorestliev" 
• An educational event for children and youth with the participation of famous Plovdiv musicians: maestro Micho Dimitrov and Stiliyan Dermendzhiev (violin), Liliya Kovacheva - Toporcheva (trumpet), Iliyan Tiganev (piano), Margarita Genova (percussion) Zdravka Andreeva - accordion.

Sahat Tepe Clock Tower

11.30 a.m. - City-wide celebration of the 116th anniversary of the declaration of the Independence of Bulgaria . Participants: Wind orchestra - Plovdiv, "Patriotism" committee, speech - Natasha Kostadinova, head of the "State Archives" department, Plovdiv, host - Simeon Alexiev.

Place: Independence Column on 22 September Square (Grozdoviya Pazar garden)

12:30 p.m. - Festive concert of the Children's Choir "Milka Stoeva" at the International Youth Cultural Center - Burgas with conductor Marieta Seklemova and Choir of Plovdiv Youth "Stefka Blagoeva" at CPLR - ODK - Plovdiv with conductor Borislava Blagoeva.

Place: the stairs of "Kamenitsa"

19:00 - Holiday concert-performance "Folklore inspirations".

The Folklore Ensemble "Trakia" - Plovdiv and the Professional Folklore Ensemble "Strandja" - Burgas are participating. The director is Prof. Dr. Daniela Dzheneva, choreography - Kiril Dzhenev, Daniela Dzheneva, Mario Egov, Dimo Enev. Music: Todor Prashtakov, Lyuben Dosev, Stoyan Paurov, Radi Radev, Borislav Galabov and others.
