Future
Four master students in photography from the Plovdiv Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" will present their photographic projects to the public as part of their graduation. Their exhibition, titled "Future," opens on July 3rd at 18:00 in the "Mexican Art" exhibition space of the Plovdiv City Art Gallery, located at 11 Artin Gidikov Street in the Old Town.
In his personal presentation titled "Four Eyes," Dimitar Georgiev exhibits over 20 photographs and installations distributed into four parts: "Eye-Form," "Eye-Story," "Eye-Feeling," and "Eye-Az." Each "eye" represents a level of impact of the images and installations on the viewer in the spheres of architectural, street, portrait, reportage, and abstract photography.
In his graduation project "Embracing the Cold: Portraits from Roma Life," Damyan Dechev reveals the challenging life of a single mother raising her four young children in poverty. According to him, the key to documentary photography is capturing and conveying what we do not see with our eyes, but with our consciousness.
Lyuben Zehtinski's project "To You" is inspired by the poem "Letter to You" by Damyan Damyanov. The idea for it arose during the first semester of his Photography master's program in discussions with Professor Tanya Varbeva and further developed with the assistance of Dr. Sonya Stankova. Each frame emotionally corresponds to a specific verse from the poetic work, enhanced by an audio installation.
Yana Ingilizova presents "Projections of the Inner World: Expressing Anxiety and Intolerable Thoughts." Her project is inspired by her desire to explore topics related to mental health, social injustice, and others. The idea for this project stems from the author's personal experiences.
The works of these four master students in photography can be viewed until July 22nd.
