The International Francophone Song Festival "Golden Key" - Plovdiv 2024 awaits its loyal audience at its 21st edition, which begins on June 28. The place is once again the House of Culture "Boris Hristov". The event is organized annually by the Alliance Française in partnership with the Municipality of Plovdiv and is under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of France and the French Institute for Bulgaria.

This year, the spirit of the Festival will be all about "chocolate and chansons", as the French master Vincent Gayot will present and offer special chocolates and sweet treats that he promises will not fill you up. To complete the pleasure, we will also celebrate the French festival of music and the coming summer with two magnificent concerts.

Dear guests will arrive in Plovdiv, who will present many pleasant and unexpected surprises for the audience in the hall. This year, thanks to the help from the partners, the stage for the concerts in the "Boris Hristov" DC will turn into a French cabaret from the beginning of the last century with retro furniture. Interesting multimedia as a background will transport viewers in spirit to France, which, in addition to being a country of chanson, is also the host of the Olympic Games this year.

"Both for sports and music, there is no language barrier, and the chanson is loved by all ages, that is why this Festival is used and developed with such success and has established itself as the largest such format for the Balkans," says the director of Alliance French in Plovdiv - Teofana Bradinska-Angelova.

For more than three decades, Plovdiv has celebrated the "Festival of French Music", an event started by France in 1985. on the initiative of the Minister of Culture Jacques-Lang, when musicians, amateurs and professionals sing and play freely for their own pleasure and for the pleasure of the audience. It has become an extremely fascinating and positively charged event, today it takes place all over the world, in over 120 countries on the five continents, where there are French alliances and cultural centers. According to tradition, the Festival will be opened by Plamen Panov, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Archeology and Tourism of the Municipality of Plovdiv, in the presence of many official French and Bulgarian guests.

The largest Francophone television, TV5 Monde, has been a long-standing and constant partner in the organization of the "Golden Key" International Francophone Song Festival in Plovdiv, and will now also present the global, cultural and educational streaming platform TV5 MONDE plus. The platform is free and gives access to series, French films, fiction and documentaries, and this year both concerts from the city of Plovdiv will be shared there.

One is of Antonia Markova, the first laureate of this international forum, who today has her own independent career, but we will also see future music stars coming from all over Bulgaria.

"Antonia Markova's star career started precisely thanks to the French chanson. She is also a multiple winner of awards from national and international competitions - "Hit Minus One", "Burgas and the Sea", Music idol, "AVON VOICES", where she managed to fight off 9000 applicants from all over the world and reach the semi-finals in Paris, where he represented Bulgaria worthily. Recently, Antonia quite deservedly won the TV format of NOVA "The Stars in Us". Our partner is once again Art Voice Center. Thanks to the music teacher Mrs. Rumyana Ivanova, in 2024, both performers from Plovdiv and laureates from various festivals and competitions from all over the country will take part. The second concert is of the talented twin brothers from the duo "Jessandwest", very famous already in France, who have prepared a new and attractive program for their participation in Plovdiv. "Jessandwest" is a duo that won all possible awards of the "Talents of France" format in 2019 - jury, audience, for authors and composer, etc. They share that they are in love with Plovdiv, and recently they are laureates of the "Voice of France" television format. Busy with a full calendar of performances, they were delighted to find an opportunity to come again for a concert at the Festival. Especially for them in Plovdiv, the inspiring Olga Vasilenko will come to greet them from the stage.
