12th International Dance Festival "Plovdiv Ancient and Eternal"
On the 6th and 7th of April, the 12th International Dance Festival "Plovdiv Ancient and Eternal" will be held on the stage of Kolodrum Plovdiv! Start time: 08:00 a.m.
The festival started in 2012. and each subsequent edition attracts more and more amateur dancers from all over the country and abroad. In 2024, within two festival days, choreographies will be danced in 17 dance styles, namely - Ballet, Bulgarian folk dances - diversions, Bulgarian folk dances - plot and thematic, Dances of the peoples, Contemporary modern, Lyrical, Jazz , Acrobatic dance, Open, Latin dance, Commercial dance MTV, Dance cheerleaders, Parade cheerleaders, Musical theater, Urban, Ballroom dancing, Productions.
This year the festival offers a rich prize fund:
Cash prizes: BGN 500. for the best soloists, BGN 500. for the best duets and trios, BGN 2,000. for the best groups and formations; scholarships to study in the USA, Italy and Spain; grand prize for the best in the most contested styles; participation medals for each participant; medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for solo, duo/trio; cups for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for groups and formations; vouchers for free participation in MTF Dawn of Dance, Burgas 2024; individual diplomas for each participant for each dance; material prizes for the smallest and largest participant!
A special ten-member jury will evaluate the choreographies. Among them are Paolo Londi (Italy) - member of C.I.D. U.N.E.S.C.O. and the only contemporary Italian choreographer to be recorded in the two thousand year history of dance as having introduced modern dance into a consecrated church for the first time and included it in the Vatican's multimedia encyclopedia. He is also the only Italian choreographer who has reached a total of 11 million views with his videos on youtube.; Camelia Soare (Romania) - prima ballerina of the Bucharest Opera and Ballet, graduated from the Romanian University of Arts and Sciences Boje Cristea - specialization "The Art of Theater Performances - Choreography" with specialization in "Teatro Alla Scala", Milan - Italy 2011; Stefan Soare (Romania) - prima ballerina of the Bucharest Opera and Ballet with over 100 leading roles, and later director of the opera, professor of ballet at the Ballet School in Bucharest.
