Transforming vibrations in Plovdiv from April 19 to 28

"Plovdiv vibes" festival begins 

Plovdiv Vibes resonates in seven different urban areas from April 19 to 28! This year's edition of the festival follows the theme "Transformations", and presents a variety of cultural, entertainment events and transformations in urban spaces.

Interesting highlights in the edition will be the photographic exhibitions "Transformations" of the young photographer Ivaylo Stanjikov, who will present different interpretations of the theme in an exhibition presented in Plovdiv Stage Park and the exhibition "The city - before and now", which is carried out jointly with "Action Photo Plovdiv", in the person of Plamen Kochev and the young photographers Hristian Agushev and Hristian Iliev. In the exhibition "The city - before and now", the authors present the transformation of Plovdiv over the years, showing the contrast between old photographs and modern ones taken from the same locations. The exhibition will be presented at Park Elite (2019) in Trakia on April 22 (Tuesday).

An expected event occupying an important place in this year's program is the Vibes Market creative bazaar presenting over 20 local and visiting authors of handicrafts. The creative "handmade" bazaar will be held over two weekends at the end of April on the bazaar alley at the foot of Mladezhki Hill. The event has established traditions and will present a wide variety of handmade works. In parallel with the Vibes Market, the interesting educational and creative workshops "Children create on the hill" will take place, which give children different skills and teach them to work with traditional techniques and intriguing materials. On April 21 (Sunday), fans of handicrafts will be able to get acquainted with the activities and works of various social enterprises, which we will present in the form of an exhibition and a bazaar at the foot of Bunardjika Hill. The event is carried out in partnership with MTSP/Focus-point Plovdiv and will be accompanied by consultations of child psychologists, speech therapists and interesting workshops on art therapy and healthy culinary workshops.

The stage program of the festival was hosted by Plovdiv STAGE PARK - Mladezhki Hill and presents the performers from the group Funkilicious, Group THARALESHTA, Pacho DJs, Ill -Q, Max BG, Vasil Ivanov. In the second weekend of the festival, we also welcome one of the pioneers in electronic music, DJ GAGALOVE, and we will place the cherry on top of the festival on Sunday, April 28, with the gentle disco diva COOL BLUE.

Music lovers will be able to tickle their egos and show off their knowledge with Musical Bingo presented on stage in Plovdiv Stage Park by the well-known Stefan Lozanov. Visitors to the festival will be able to enjoy the performances of students from NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL OF STAGE AND FILM DESIGN (Stage Shots), who will present the dance-theatre show "Emotions" and theater-puppet sketches on both weekends of the 10-day festival.

The artists from the Plovdiv Cultural Institute will take part in the program with a dance performance.

In the afternoon hours of April 25, together with the partners from the Bulgarian Association for the Protection of Birds, we will show our ecological responsibility through a "workshop for nests", which will be held in Lauta Park. Together, we will make houses for chickadee and tit, transforming their comfort zone.

On 26 April, we will transform the space around Bratska Mogila and reveal interesting facts about this mysterious monument. The event will begin with a Mini Tour led by a licensed tour guide that shows the transformation of the area and will include a talk about the historic and architectural value of the monument. The space nearby will be designed as a pop- up area for discussions and board games.

The festival also visits Rybnitsa Park with clowning and pantomime in the afternoon of April 21, and with sports fans, we will move on the benches of Rowing base when "We will eat stairs for breakfast" with the global initiative coordinated by BG Be active- No elevators Day (April 24). For the finale of the festival, we will present the annual concert of Terpsichora Dance School, which will present all its schools and alumni!

Plovdiv Vibes for another year is implemented with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv, as part of the Cultural Calendar of the city, and the organizers from the Association Incubator Creative Complex welcome all those who are thirsty for culture and art outdoors to join in the various events covering the favorite city areas. As usual, the events are FREE ENTRY and promise many beautiful moments.
