Spanish folklore, electronic music, volcanic body energy, contemporary dance
And that’s not all you’ll see outdoors downtown. The collective Laimperfecta combines Basque traditions with electronic music, the open space intensifying the impact of this unconventional yet successful combination, full of physical virtuosity and high emotional charge.
Collective in character and reproduction, the dance rituals end up at a hot rave party, where, on the opposite, everyone vibes and has fun in their way. The plaza becomes a dance floor through the decades, and bodies still tumble, seeking happiness, liberation, elevation, and connection with others. These are movements encoded in our minds, superimposed or entirely new.

Is electronic music the new folklore, since when we receive and transmit it in codes of steps and movements, we resonate its rhythm and pulse somewhat ritually? Is this the latest tradition since we discover ourselves, a community, and a place to belong through it? A Contemporary “folk art” that is open to everyone. And its litmus test is something so human – sweat.
Spanish choreographers Alberto Alonso and Clara Pampyn turn upside down the stereotype of sweating being shameful, ugly, and disgusting. On the contrary, they see sweat as proof that we are alive, committed, and purified in both flesh and thought. That dance is life both on and off stage.
