Concert by Evgeni Genchev
Ancient Theatre
On 3 June 2023 (Saturday) at the Ancient Theatre, the world piano virtuoso will present his solo musical performance for the first time in front of a native audience
"My Music. My World. Myself." is the motto of the concert with which Evgeni Genchev will present his favourite music in his native Plovdiv! On Saturday night, the boy who left the city of the hills and conquered high artistic peaks, will do not just a concert, but a real piano show with his arrangements of compositions from Albiononi to Queen and Nirvana! Evgeny has selected works that are close to his heart and that have left a lasting mark on time and musical history. On this emotional evening he will be joined on stage by musical guests who will be a special surprise!
No less exciting is the concert venue. For Evgeni, as for every Plovdiv resident, the Ancient Theatre is a gathering of history, heritage and culture! This is where Evgeni attended his first concert as a child, and now the Antique Theatre will host his musical performance. Evgeni Genchev shares:
"I am very excited to present my solo show for the first time in my homeland. As a classical pianist, I have performed from Australia and Asia to the States. But for classical musicians, I am someone who has joined the 'dark side'. For me, music is universal. I have no desire to limit myself by genre. I am guided by what touches me. The piano is an instrument where you can play any tune that is close to your heart and manages to move you. I have always aimed to convey this feeling to the audience and I can't wait to share this special experience with you."
From this revelation it is clear that we are in for not just a classical piano concert, but a real show that will offer us a whirlwind of musical styles - classical, pop and rock music!
Evgeni Genchev's concert "My Music. My World. Myself." is starting at 20.00.
The event is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv and is part of the Cultural Calendar of the city.
