The Legacy of Dimitar Tsontchev (Archaeology for Everyone)
Regional Archaeological Museum - Plovdiv
The first talk for 2023 of the "Archaeology for Everyone" initiative will be held on April 8 and will be dedicated to one of Plovdiv's most notable archaeologists, honorary citizen of the city and former director of the museum - Dimitar Tsonchev. He has explored many important archaeological sites in the city and beyond, among them the sanctuary of the god Asclepius near the village of. Patalenitsa, the Christian temple at the top of Jendem Tepe in Plovdiv, the remains of the Roman city of Diocletianopolis in the present-day town of Hisarya, and many, many others.
In 2023, the museum will celebrate the 125th anniversary of Dimitar Tsontchev's birth, and events to mark this anniversary will begin with the restoration of Archaeology for Everyone.

The talks from Archaeology for Everyone are FREE, but take place in the museum, which is accessible upon payment of an entrance fee. Prices are as follows:
- Bulgarian citizens - BGN 6.
- 6 BGN for foreign citizens.
- Students - BGN 2.
- Family ticket (families with children up to 16 years) - BGN 10.
- children up to 7 years - free
- visitors with special needs - free of charge
