The 9th National Student Acting Competition in Plovdiv will last two days, opening on Friday, 24 March 2023 at 10.00. The venue is the 3rd studio of the National High School of Stage and Film Design.

The prestigious National Student Acting Competition, which the National High School of Performing and Screen Arts in Plovdiv is organizing for the 9th time, is attended by talented students from secondary schools of the arts and youth theater formations from all over the country.

They are from 8th to 11th grade, but under 18 years of age by the end of the competition, and participate in the race for scholarships (1st,2nd,3rd place in three categories), which the Ministry of Culture grants under the terms of the Ordinance for the Protection of Children with Exceptional Talents.

This year 47 students have applied for participation. They are competing in the fields of Drama Theatre, Puppet Theatre, Non-verbal Theatre/Pantomime. The students present monologues, excerpts from plays, puppet etudes and parts of prose.

An authoritative jury is once again charged with the daunting task of judging. The chairman is the actor Vladimir Zombori from the acclaimed TV series "Vina", who is also a graduate of the National High School of Stage and Film Design - Plovdiv, and the members are Anna-Valeria Gostanyan and Stefania Georgieva. The competition will be attended by Ralitsa Bazaitova from the Performing Arts and Arts Education Directorate at the Ministry of Culture. The award ceremony is on Saturday, when Vladimir Zombori will participate in an informal meeting with the students.
