Classic Open Air - Music under the hills with Gabriela Garcia and Giovanni Pisti
The Municipality of Plovdiv and Opera Plovdiv invite the people of Plovdiv to a concert from the "Classic Open Air - Music under the Hills" series. The event is on September 16 (Friday) at 18:30 at Bunardjika Aqueduct. The musicians Gabriela Garcia - harp and Giovanni Pistis - oboe, known to the public as Duo Capana, will perform on stage. The program includes compositions by Donizetti, Gluck and Piazzolla. Entry for the public is free!
The project, part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv, symbolically unites the hills as a common stage for culture and emphasizes their potential for development as urban spaces for artistic events.
Giovanni Pistis studied at the Conservatory in Genoa - Italy, in the class of Gian Enrico Cortese. He continued his musical studies at the Royal College in Stockholm and then at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has collaborated with several orchestras in the international panorama such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, the Royal Opera of Wallonia, the Venetian Opera La Fenice, the Swedish Radio Orchestra, the Stockholm Opera, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Carlo Felice of Genoa. Since 2018, he has been an oboist and English horn performer at the Plovdiv Opera.
Gabriela Garcia was born in Varna, but grew up and studied in Belgium. He defended his master's degree at the Higher Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur (IMEP), in the class of Sophie Alenck. In 2015, he received a diploma in performing arts from the Paris Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Corto. Since 2018, she has been a solo harpist at the Plovdiv State Opera. She is the winner of awards from international competitions, has numerous concert appearances in Belgium, France, Italy, Holland, as well as at international music festivals - Le Altre Notte, Rousse Music Days, Rio Harp Festival.
