119 years since the outbreak of the Ilinden-Preobrazhensky Uprising
Plovdiv honors the heroes who died in the Ilinden-Preobrazhen Uprising on August 2.
On August 2, 2022, Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. a city-wide celebration will take place on the occasion of 119 years since the outbreak of the Ilindensko-Preobrazhensko Uprising and solemn honoring of the heroes who died in the Ilindensko-Preobrazhensko Uprising of August 2, 1903.
The place of the ceremony is the monument to the Bulgarians from Eastern and Western Thrace and White Sea Macedonia, who died in the national liberation struggles and the wars for Bulgaria (located in the "South" area, next to the old halls).
The celebration, which includes a solemn speech and laying of wreaths and flowers, will be attended by a military brass band, a representative formation from the garrison - Plovdiv - honor company and wreath bearers and the "Patriot" committee. The presenter will be Zlatko Pavlov.
The ceremonial speech will be delivered by Angel JAMBAZKI - Bulgarian representative in the European Parliament, elected from the VMRO list, member of the European Conservatives and Reformists group and co-chairman of the VMRO.
The Municipality of Plovdiv invites citizens to join in the celebration.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Plovdiv, the Regional Governor of the Plovdiv Region, the Chairman of the Municipal Council - Plovdiv, representatives from the Regional Administration, deputy mayors, regional mayors and representatives from the municipal administration, municipal councilors, the Public Mediator of the Municipality of Plovdiv, political and community organizations and media.
