The Spring Crafts Fair - 2022 and the plein air "Kalofer Lace - Past and Future" open in Plovdiv.

Regional Chamber of Crafts - Plovdiv invites Plovdiv residents and guests of the city to the traditional Spring Crafts Fair with Plein Air "Kalofer Lace - Past and Future". The events are funded by the Municipality of Plovdiv under the Annual Tourism Development Program and are implemented with the support of KCM 2000 Group and in partnership with Kalofer Lace Creative Center - Kalofer, Sofia University "St.St. Cyril and Methodius ”-Plovdiv, REM-Plovdiv.

The opening is today - 19.05.2022 from 18.00, on the stairs of Kamenica with a music program with the participation of graduates of Sofia University "St.St. Cyril and Methodius ”in the profession of“ Dancer ”and bagpiper Ivan Karabetev.

Residents and guests of Plovdiv can visit the events on 11th of August Street, Dr. Valkovich Street and Stanislav Dospevski Street.

At the Crafts Fair from 19.05.2022 to 22.05.2022, every day from 10.00 to 19.30, you will see the work of masters and journeymen - craftsmen from all over the country, who never cease to delight and amaze us with their talent and inspiration. . Guest participants, students from the Professional High School of Interior Architecture and Woodworking "Hristo Botev", every day from 10.00. until 18.00, will demonstrate and present the craft "Woodcarving". The focus of this edition is the plein air "Kalofer lace - past and future", which will present the intricacies of a magical and exquisite craft "Kalofer lace", practiced by very few master craftsmen.

On 21.05.2022 and 22.05.2022, every day from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on the Main Street next to the City Art Gallery, Galina Simeonova, Margarita Boneva, Kremena Dimitrova, Antoaneta Parvanova, Nikolinka Kurtanova, Prof. Yordanko Stancheva, Prof. Vordanka Stancheva will show their mastery. Tekilyanova and Evgenia Tekilyanova. They will demonstrate a very rare and little known in our country and around the world unique technique for knitting with shuttles. Visitors will be able to learn more about the craft, to enjoy the elegance of patterns typical of traditional Kalofer lace. The partners from "Kalofer Lace Creative Center" - Kalofer will tell about all this. The participants in the Plein Air will test their skills in an extremely fine and beautiful craft and on May 22 at 18.00, after judging, the winner of the master competition will be announced.
