The invention of the wheel in the IV millennium BC drastically changes the world of ancient people. Thanks to it, the first vehicles were created, which throughout their existence and to this day are an integral part of people's lives.

Apart from the peculiarities of the different types of chariots, the visitors of the exhibition will have the opportunity to get acquainted with many other interesting details related to the history and symbolism of vehicles in antiquity. They will also learn about an interesting ritual from the period I-III century, thanks to which we have the most information about the appearance and purpose of the chariots used by the Thracians.

Part of the exhibition is the first reconstruction of a Thracian chariot made in Bulgaria. It was exhibited in the old exposition of the museum 20 years ago and can now be seen again by visitors.

They are one of the many victims of treasure groups, but thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Interior Affairs they were saved and handed over to the museum. The items are presented in the only safe window of its kind, specially made in 1950 for the preservation and display of the Golden Treasure of Panagyurishte.
