The festival "We are the children of the river" is a one-day event that will take place on September 21 and will demonstrate to the people of Plovdiv the unexpected opportunities for entertainment and culture around the river.
"Rediscover nature in the city" is the motto of the first edition of the one-day festival event for the arts "We are the children of the river", which will be held on the banks of the Maritsa River next to the bridge of the Water Palace in the city of Plovdiv. The event aims to bring together different forms of art and culture while promoting environmental awareness in the community through discussions led by local experts who are familiar with various aspects of urban planning, the environment and sustainability. The involvement of citizens, through the methodology of placemaking, in processes of creating an urban environment, will promote sustainable lifestyles and the connection between community and urban nature.

The event includes a diverse range of activities and entertainment: art workshops, music performances that are suitable for all ages, discussions on urban planning and the environment with the theme "My Green City" - the creation of spaces with the participation of citizens. The festival action will not only entertain children and adults, but also inspire them to explore their interests and talents in a beautiful and natural environment, while teaching them the importance of preserving the urban ecosystem for future generations, promoting sustainable conservation practices of the environment, as well as promoting a sense of community unity and belonging to the urban ecosystem.
