Bulgarian Literature in Brief - PREMIERE
Boris Hristov House of Culture
TV star Maria Ignatova steps on a theatre stage for the first time in Ivo Siromahov's comedy Bulgarian Literature in Brief.
The action of the play takes place in the classroom of a school. Three teachers (played by Maria Ignatova, Nencho Ilchev and Antoan Petrov) are faced with the challenge of teaching all Bulgarian literature in an attractive and modern way so that it can be understood by modern students.
Teachers devotedly act out the conflicts between Ivan Vazov and Pencho Slaveykov, Yovkov and Elin Pelin, the love triangle between Yavorov, Laura and Mina, and stage moments from Under the Yoke, At the Furrow and On the Wire.
Through laughter and bitter irony
"Bulgarian Literature in Brief" tells about the absurd situation in Bulgarian education and the absurdities that students and teachers face.
The show is directed by Zlatomir Moldovanski ("A Game for Two", "Love Stories") and the set and costumes are by Ivelina Mineva.
