Plovdiv has been chosen to host the World Championship in Taekwondo after the succesful carrying out of the event in Sofia in 2013. 

The 19-th championship for men and women will be held in the recently finished multifunctional hall "Colodruma". The official opening og the event will be on the 27-th of August at 7:30 p.m.

The finals, as well as the closing event will be held at the Ancient Theatre in the Old Town.

850 participants from 83 countries are expected to take part. Bulgaria will be presented by 7 women and 13 men.
