Sophia Prodanova built a versatile career in various styles - from early baroque to contemporary music, she also acts as an improviser. Her violin training began at NUMTI "Dobrin Petkov" - Plovdiv with Evgenia Nocheva. In 2014 she received a full scholarship from the British Ministry and a place in the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School. There she has the good fortune to work with teachers such as Diana Galvidite, Jenna Sherry, Natasha Boyarski, Andras Keller, Lucia and Alina Ibragimovi, Robert Levin and others. Since 2017, Sophia has been studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the violin class of David Takeno, baroque violin with Pavlo Beznosyuk and improvisation with David Dolan. She is the founder of the string quartet "Portorius" and the baroque ensemble "Apollo’s Cabinet", she has been a concertmaster in orchestras and ensembles in performances of operas, musicals, cantatas and symphony programs. She has worked with musicians from leading orchestras in London. As an improviser, she participated in scientific experiments conducted by the Imperial College, London & Tokyo Institute of Technology. Sophia is also part of the unique Spira Mirabilis orchestra, known for performing symphonic works without a conductor. In 2019, Sophia is the concertmaster of the London orchestra "Fidelio". She is also a soloist with the Southend Symphony Orchestra. Together with her baroque ensemble, "Apollo’s Cabinet" is a fellow at the renowned Brighton Early Music Festival. Sophia's education is possible thanks to the support of the Guildhall School Trust and Kathleen Trust, as well as the generosity of the luthiers Eva and Hristo Marinovi from Cremona-Italy, who provided her with their master instrument.
