The Golden Rhyton Festival opens on Thursday with the film about Nacho Culture "100 Years of Flying on the Stones"

For the 27th time, the festival for Bulgarian documentary and animation cinema "Golden Rhyton" will open its doors to its viewers in Plovdiv from December 14th to 21st in the comfort of the Lucky Cinema, where we will watch a record number of films - a total of 90 documentaries and cartoons. The festival is held with the financial support of the Plovdiv municipality and has been a traditional part of the city's cultural calendar since its inception until today.

60 films participate in the competition program, of which 21 are animated and 39 are documentaries. The parallel program "Open Horizons" will show 25 films that did not enter the competition, but show a curious theme or approach. 4 more films will remind us of the work of the unforgettable Binka Zhelyazkova and Malina Petrova. A special surprise for Ritona viewers is the screening of a digitally restored copy of the film "The Balkan War" - part of a project of the National Film Library for the digitization of old films.

The official opening of the "Golden Rhyton" festival is on December 14, at 6:00 p.m. in hall 1 of the Lucky Cinema with the film "100 Years of Flying on the Stones", dedicated to Atanas Krastev - Nacho Kulturata.

The film was created with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and the Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv". Its premiere took place on 17.09.2022, on Atanas Krastev's birthday, as part of the official program of "Old Town Festival" 2022. The publication was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Atanas Krastev – Nacho Kulturata.
