Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival 2023

The 27th Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival returns to Plovdiv from 10 to 21 September with a rich programme of 19 performances and many accompanying events.

The opening on September 10 at 7 pm in the main hall of the Drama Theatre-Plovdiv is entrusted to the students of prof. Margarita Mladenova from NATFA. The young artists are already rehearsing their diploma performance based on Ivan Turgenev's play A Month in the Village. The director is prof. Mladenova, set and costume design by Ivaylo Nikolov. The production is a collaboration with the Drama Theatre, which gives young people a chance to perform their diploma play on a professional stage.

Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival is made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Plovdiv Municipality, as part of the city's Cultural Calendar for 2023 and the patronage of a family headed by the cosmetics company Rosa Impex.

The Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival was established in 1997 in the city of Plovdiv. The initiators for the establishment of the festival are the Municipality of Plovdiv, the Ministry of Culture and the Drama Theatre - Plovdiv. The main initiator and founder of Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival is the prominent Bulgarian actor Stefan Danailov. 

Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival is conceived as an annual event and takes place in September. In its previous history, the festival has presented hundreds of theatrical performances to Plovdiv audiences on the Big Stage of the Plovdiv Drama Theatre.
