The well-known Plovdiv sculptor Dimitar Chonov continues to develop his sculptural thinking as an artist in the typical Bulgarian traditions and history. His familiar characters are placed in new artistic interpretations and awaken to the viewer, respectively, new emotions. Kukeri, grape harvest, Orpheus, Thracian chariots and wars are only part of the inspiration and the transformation in his new exhibition.
The beautifully crafted details, the clear and stylish compositions again prove its talent for a native sculptor and a deep-rooted artist in the Bulgarian.

Dimitar Chonov was born in 1971 in Plovdiv. In 1990, he graduated from High School of Applied Arts "Tcanko Lavrenov" in Plovdiv. In 1997 he graduated from the National Art Academy in Sofia, specialty "Sculpture" in Prof. Gondov. From 2009 to 2013 was chairman of the Society of Plovdiv Artists. He has made eight solo exhibitions and participated in numerous general ones and symposiums in Bulgaria and abroad.
